Library memberships are free for residents and property owners in the Municipality of Whitestone.

Restrictions

Circulation

Members are informed when the following limits have been reached:

Maximum number of overdue items out: 4 items

Unfortunately, once these levels have been exceeded, the membership will be suspended until items are returned or renewed.

20 Print materials per membership card (up to 21 day period, maximum of up to 3 renewals)
DVDs (up to 7 day period, no renewals)
1 New Release DVD per household (up to 2 day period, no renewals)
1 DVD Series per membership card (up to 14 day period, no renewals)

Renewals

Printed library materials may be renewed for up to three (3) loan periods provided that:

  • the item(s) are not on reserve for someone else
  • the item(s) are not in high demand
  • the member has not reached his/her limit of overdue fines or charges
  • DVDs are not eligible for renewal

Reserves

Reserves on materials can be made online, over the phone, or in person. Staff will contact the member when the materials are in and ready for pickup. Reserves can be picked up at the holds shelf for a limited period of days before being returned to the stacks.
