MAKERSPACE
We offer a variety of tools and equipment for public use! Feel free to book an appointment with library staff for advice, lessons, and assistance with any of our equipment.
Crafternoons that utilize Maker equipment are held several times per month. These are a great social afternoon for beginner makers who would like to get started with projects! All skill levels welcome.
Cricut Maker 3
Cricut Maker 3 is available on a mobile maker cart in the library. We have a bin of scrap material available, but users are encouraged to bring their own supplies.
Our public computers and iPads have Cricut Design Space installed and ready to use.
Silhouette Cameo 3
The Silhouette Cameo 3 is available for use on request. The Cameo cuts vinyl, cardstock, and paper much like the Cricut.
Heat Press + Mini Press
We have two heat presses to use at the library: one large size, suitable for projects like t-shirts, pillowcases, and hoodies. We also offer a mini heat press for smaller projects like hats.
Cutting Machines
3D Printing
The Adventurer 5M Pro is found at the front desk of the library and is made available by the Whitestone Recreation Committee.
Prints: $0.10 per gram of filament.
Button Making
We have four sizes of buttons available to make at the library, ranging from 1/2 inch to 2.5 inch.
Large size button maker is made available by the Whitestone Recreation Committee.
Sublimation Printing
Our new Epson Sublimation Printer is set up and ready to go!
Prints: $4.00 per page.
Illustration, Video Editing, and More
The Library offers a variety of creative equipment and software available for use in-library, including:
- iPads and Apple Pencils (equipped with Procreate)
- Mac with the Adobe Suite
- Tripods for Phones, Cameras, and Tablets
- Green Screen
- Podcasting kit with Yeti microphone and headset.
Restrictions
- 3D prints are not food-safe unless properly sealed.
- Equipment may not be used to produce weapons or materials that pose a threat to others.
- The library offers four sewing machines to use in-library or to bring home, available upon request.
