
Whitestone Grassroots Growth Workshops
Presented by the Dunchurch Agricultural Society in partnership with the Whitestone Public Library. Funding provided by the OMAFRA Grassroots Growth Program and the Province of Ontario. Further funding for Windowsill Herb Gardens and Annuals From Seed provided by the Georgian Bay Biosphere. Preregistration is required as space is limited.

Planning Your Garden (Virtual)
The first in a series of gardening workshops, Planning Your Garden will cover topics including: ordering from seed catalogues, plotting your garden, which seeds to start and when, and planting according to zone. Participants will receive a garden journal with notes and information on the topics, a seed catalogue, and a microgreens kit
Begins at 7:00 PM and will run for approximately an hour and a half. This workshop will be virtual with a Zoom link provided upon registration. A participant package will be available for pickup at the library prior to the workshop.

Windowsill Herb Gardens (Virtual)
Juliette Terry of the Dunchurch Agricultural Society will walk participants through the process of setting up a windowsill herb planter. A limited number of participant packages will be available prior to the virtual workshop.
This workshop is offered by the Dunchurch Agricultural Society and the Whitestone Public Library with support from the Georgian Bay Biosphere & Community Foundations of Canada.
Begins at 7:00 PM and will run for approximately an hour and a half. This workshop will be held over Zoom.

Annuals from Seed
Sean Patchett of the Master Gardeners of Muskoka will go over the basics of starting annuals from seed.
This workshop is offered by the Dunchurch Agricultural Society and the Whitestone Public Library with support from the Georgian Bay Biosphere & Community Foundations of Canada.

Four Sacred Medicines
Elder Delores McKay of the Parry Sound Friendship Centre will teach participants about the four sacred medicines and their four directions, and the three sister crops.
Begins at 7:00 PM at the Dunchurch Community Centre and will run for approximately an hour and a half. This workshop will also be available virtually over Zoom.

World Beneath Your Feet
Tom, Brenda, and Hilda Tota from Midlothian Valley Farm will present on sustainable soil practices, including compost and crop rotation.
Begins at 6:00 PM at the Dunchurch Community Centre and will run for approximately an hour and a half. This workshop will also be available virtually over Zoom.
