2026 Read-a-thon Fundraiser

We pride ourselves on being a hub for the community of Whitestone to work, relax, socialize, and learn. This year, our Read-a-Thon Fundraiser will give the library’s biggest fans the opportunity to raise money on our behalf to support the library’s Makerspace. Our Makerspace provides community members of all ages with opportunities to create and learn. STEAM programs for children and youth, access to equipment like a 3D printer for entrepreneurs and creatives, and learning opportunities to help increase technological literacy, all make our Makerspace one of our most sought after services.
Our Read-a-Thon will take place the week of July 26th. Anyone interested in participating can sign up as early as July 12th, either as an individual or in a team with others. You’ll be able to see how other fundraisers are doing to keep you motivated, and at the end, there will be special prizes for most pages read and most money raised!
Read-a-thon FAQ
Each person or team pledges the number of pages they think they can read during the Read-a-Thon (it’s like signing up for a marathon, but instead of running, you’re reading!) Then they can fundraise for donations leading up to the event.
Don’t want to start or join a team but still want to participate? No problem! You can find teams to donate to through our Read-a-thon Fundraiser page.
Teams can ask family, friends, and coworkers to sponsor their team’s goal. Sponsors can contribute online through our Read-a-thon page or through cash donations given to the team leader.
